For research results that are too immature to be commercialized directly. Phase I is for a research team at a university or research institute — a maximum of three researchers plus one business resource — over 18 months, with the possibility of extension to 36. Phase II is for the company founded out of Phase I. NOTE: whether personnel costs come in addition to the Phase I ceiling is unclear in the sources; check the manual before you budget.

1. Describe the idea. Company name and a few sentences about the project — registration number and sector are fetched from the registry.
2. Check your chances. Granteon assesses the project against the criteria in EXIST-Forschungstransfer and tells you honestly whether it can be won — before you write.
3. Write the application. The AI writes from your own facts, scores the draft like an award committee, and delivers it field by field within the portal's character limits.
4. Complete the financing. Your own contribution is calculated. You can obtain a signed conditional commitment from an investor, and find consortium partners when the call requires them.

How much can you get from EXIST-Forschungstransfer?

Up to €250 000. Funding rate: Phase I: up to EUR 250,000. Phase II: up to EUR 180,000, and a maximum of 75% of the project-specific costs..
